Morin Khuur Ensemble of Mongolia Performed for Their Majesties the Emperor and Empress of Japan
President of Mongolia Ukhnaagiin Khurelsukh and First Lady Luvsandorjiin Bolortsetseg paid a courtesy call on His Majesty the Emperor of Japan Naruhito and Her Majesty the Empress Masako today at the Imperial Palace in Tokyo.
Expressing satisfaction over his ongoing state visit to Japan in commemoration of the 50th Anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries, the President of Mongolia conveyed the warm greetings of the people of Mongolia to Emperor Naruhito and the people of Japan.
The President of Mongolia also expressed confidence that the Strategic Partnership which rapidly consolidated in the Heisei era of Japan will continue to prevail in the Reiva era. He then voiced satisfaction over the fact that the two countries upgraded the level of Strategic Partnership to Special Strategic Partnership for Peace and Prosperity, injecting impetus into the further expansion of mutually beneficial cooperation.
President Khurelsukh invited Emperor Naruhito and Empress Masako to visit Mongolia at their convenience.
While underscoring that the people-to-people ties are being strengthened and the 50th Anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Mongolia and Japan is being solemnly celebrated this year, Emperor Naruhito wished success in the Mongolian President’s ongoing state visit.
During the meeting, Emperor Naruhito shared his fond memories of paying a visit to Mongolia in 2007 when he was the Crown Prince and playing “Swan” by K.Sen-Sans on violin together with the Mongolian Symphony Orchestra.
Closing the celebratory events dedicated to the 50th Anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries, the Morin Khuur Ensemble of Mongolia performed a concert for Emperor Naruhito and Empress Masako at the headquarters of NHK television of Japan.
Declaring 2022 the Year of Friendship and Exchanges, Mongolia and Japan solemnly celebrated the historic 50th Anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations this year, organizing more than 100 celebratory activities.
