The Mongolian Pavilion opened at the 60th International Art Exhibition – La Biennale di Venezia, one of the most prestigious and influential events in visual arts, in Italy with the support of the Government of Mongolia and the Ministry of Culture of Mongolia.
Honored Cultural Figure of Mongolia Ochirbold Ayurzana, commissioned by the Mongolian Ministry of Culture, will represent Mongolia at the 60th International Art Exhibition – La Biennale di Venezia. The Mongolian Pavilion is curated by Oyuntuya Oyunjargal, Mongolia's Cultural Envoy to Germany, and co-curated by Dr. Gregor Jansen, director of the Kunsthalle Düsseldorf in Germany.
The Mongolian Pavilion, “Discovering the Present from the Future”, was inaugurated on April 18, 2024. More than 50 international media organizations covered the Opening Ceremony of Mongolia's Pavilion.
The Opening Ceremony of the Mongolian Pavilion took place under "Go Mongolia," the national tourism brand promoting Mongolia internationally. Around 200 international guests and representatives from the political, cultural, and business spheres were invited and introduced to the extensive heritage of Mongolian art and culture.
While promoting Mongolia internationally through the visual arts sector, a priority direction for cultural and creative production, the Ministry of Culture of Mongolia also pays special attention to supporting artists who enrich world-renowned intellectual and cultural heritage. To help nurture the talents of new artists, the Ministry offers them opportunities to participate in upcoming biennales and gain valuable experience by introducing them to the current Biennale.
In addition, the famous Italian theater "La Scala" is staging an opera where E. Amartuvshin, the People's Actor of Mongolia and World's Best Baritone, is performing solo. On April 19, 2024, the "Center of Mongolian Culture" is scheduled to open at the universities of Florence and Parma.
Mongolia is preparing to participate for the first time as a guest country at the upcoming "Festival Dell'Oriente" on April 20, 2024, which aims to promote world history, culture, art, customs, and heritage.
