Germany to Provide EUR 4 Million for Mongolian-German Institute for Resource and Technology Project

Ulaanbaatar, February 14, 2024 /MONTSAME/. President of the Federal Republic of Germany Frank-Walter Steinmeier paid a State Visit to Mongolia on February 7-8, 2024, at the invitation of President of Mongolia Khurelsukh Ukhnaa.
The State Visit is considered remarkably significant in enhancing the relations between the two countries in all sectors as the Comprehensive Partnership has been advanced to a Strategic Partnership by signing the Joint Declaration regarding the Strategic Partnership between Mongolia and the Federal Republic of Germany.
Cooperation documents on developing relations and cooperation in specific sectors were signed on February 7, 2024, which includes Agreement between the Ministry of Education and Science of Mongolia and the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ) on the Implementation of the Mongolian-German Institute for Resource and Technology Project. Minister of Education and Science of Mongolia Enkh-Amgalan Luvsantseren and Regional Director of GIZ in East Asia, Thorsten Giehler signed the Agreement.
Mongolian-German Institute for Resource and Technology is a state-owned university founded in 2013. Under the Agreement, Germany will provide EUR 4 million, and in close collaboration with national, German, and international higher education institutes practice-based curriculum that meets international standards will be implemented in the Institute, training highly skilled professionals.
