National Committee for the Implementation of the National Anti-Corruption Program to be Established
The draft resolution of the Government on the establishment of the National Committee for the implementation of the National Anti-Corruption Program was discussed during the regular session of the Cabinet on January 17, 2024.
The National anti-corruption program approved by the resolution of the State Great Khural is a medium-term program to be implemented in 2023-2030 that aimed at creating the basic conditions for the implementation of Mongolia's long-term development policy "Vision-2050", reducing corruption and abuse of power by strengthening the national justice system, the legal framework to prevent corruption and conflicts of interest, and by cultivating an attitude that values justice at all levels.
The National Committee will be responsible for coordinating and supervising anti-corruption activities of ministries, government agencies, local self-governing organizations, local administrative organizations, and state-owned legal entities. The Minister of Mongolia and the Chief of the Cabinet Secretariat will head the Committee. The National Committee members include State Secretaries of the Ministries, the Deputy Prime Minister of Mongolia, officials from the National Committee for Port Revival, the National Committee on Reducing Traffic Congestion in Ulaanbaatar, and the National Committee for Olympic, Public Physical Education, and Sports.
The establishment of the National Committee for the Implementation of the National Anti-Corruption Program will not require additional funding from the budget, and the Committee is anticipated to play an important role in intensifying the implementation of the National Anti-Corruption Program.
