“President's Scholar – 2100” Scholarship Recipients Depart for the World's Top Universities
Ulaanbaatar, October 30, 2023 /MONTSAME/. “President's Scholar – 2100” scholarship recipients, who were trained in the preparatory program at the National University of Mongolia and the Mongolian University of Science and Technology, departed Mongolia for the world's top universities.
This year, 260 Mongolian students will embark on international studies at 16 universities in the United States, Great Britain, Germany, France, the Czech Republic, Canada, Poland, Australia, Russia, Hungary, India, Laos, and Vietnam.
President of Mongolia Khurelsukh Ukhnaa attended the Farewell Ceremony for the scholarship recipients and congratulated them, wishing them success in their studies.
In his speech, President Khurelsukh emphasized that the students departing for distant lands are national leaders who will receive a global education and work for the development and welfare of their homeland. The President also urged students to hold high the name of Mongolia and the value of the Mongol people in foreign countries and to love, help, support, and respect each other.
Minister of Education and Science of Mongolia L. Enkh-Amgalan, Education, Science, and Technology Policy Advisor to the President of Mongolia Ch. Lodoiravsal and Deputy Head of the Office of the President of Mongolia A. Uilstuguldur were present at the Ceremony.
Last year, under the “President's Scholar – 2100” scholarship program, 256 Mongolian students have been studying abroad at 13 world-renowned universities. Mongolian President Khurelsukh has issued the decree to increase the competitiveness of Mongolia, provide equal educational opportunities to children and youth, and support their studies at world universities.
Within the confines of the Decree, since 2021, the Scholarship has awarded the best students from Mongolia's 330 soums and 171 khoroos of the capital city Ulaanbaatar the opportunity to study at the world's leading universities.
