Farmers Benefiting from Government Policy Support
President of Mongolia Khurelsukh Ukhnaa is making a working trip to Selenge, Orkhon and Bulgan aimags to get acquainted with the harvesting process and food producers operations.
Even though the domestic harvest will fully satisfy wheat and potato demands of Mongolia according to the crop production forecast, continues precipitation in agrarian regions recent days is causing harvest delay. Currently, the harvesting is running at 40 percent for potatoes and vegetables, 10 percent for grain, 5-7 percent for oil and fodder crops.
When the President visited Iven Turuu LLC of Baruunburen soum in Selenge aimag, General Director of the Company D.Bat expressed gratitude for policy support of government, noting that a soft loan of MNT 600 million for increasing its circulating capital within the “Food Supply and Safety” National Campaign has brought its benefits. The company reserves up to 300 tons of good quality wheat seed from its harvested crop for the next year planting and the crop yield reaches 28 centner.
General Director of Orkhon Taria LLC in Jargalant soum in Orkhon aimag Delgerbayar also emphasized that soft loans and tax relief to boost crop farming are effectively influencing crop farming companies and suppliers of agrarian machineries and equipment to expand their operations and increase crop production. Orkhon Taria LLC got a soft loan of MNT 1.5 billion for circulating capital and machinery.
Within the Food Revolution, a total of MNT 150 billion in soft loans has been delivered to 1200 agricultural companies so far.
The President Khurelsukh also visited Zanadu Rasorbak company which operates an intensive animal farm in Khutag-Undur soum, Bulgan aimag.
