JAPANESE FIGURE SKATERS TO PERFORM AT STEPPE ARENA
Ulaanbaatar, January 26, /MONTSAME/. Mongolian Skating Association and Japan Skating Federation will jointly organize the "Grassland on Ice" at the Steppe Arena between January 27-28 in connection with the 50th Anniversary of years of diplomatic relations between Mongolia and Japan. The figure skaters to demonstrate their talent in the arena include;
RIKA HONGO
Rika Hongo is a Japanese retired competitive figure skater who is a two-time (2015–16) Four Continents bronze medalist, 2014 Rostelecom Cup champion, 2015 Finlandia Trophy champion, and 2014–15 Japanese national silver medalist. She was born on September 6, 1996, in Sendai, Japan. Her mother, Yuko, is a former figure skater. Hongo began skating in 2001. She moved to Nagoya at age nine to train under coach Hiroshi Nagakubo (a famous former figure skating coach).
G. MARAL-ERDENE
G. Maral-Erdene was born in the capital city of Mongolia. She moved with her family to Nagoya, Japan when she was five years old, and started training in figure skating at Skate Club Orion in 2005. She became the first Mongolian figure skater who competed in Asian Figure Skating Championships. Previously, G. Maral-Erdene was teaching figure skating in the Steppe Arena.
CHISATO URAMATSU
Chisato Uramatsu (born 6 August 2002 in Nagoya) is a figure skater who competes internationally for Japan. Her last result is 22nd place in the Japanese Championships in 2021. She competes in the individual women category and represents the club: Chukyo University Senior High School.
Moreover, young athletes Tsunehito Karakawa and Hiroki Honda will also take part in the ice show. Not only the figure skating show but also the performances of Japanese and Mongolian dancers and singers await the audience.
