MONGOLIA-KYRGYZSTAN INTERGOVERNMENTAL COMMISSION MEETING HELD
Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. The 4th meeting of the Mongolia-Kyrgyzstan Intergovernmental Commission on Trade, Economic, Scientific, Technical and Cultural Cooperation was held in Ulaanbaatar on March 28-29. The meeting was co-chaired by Minister of Road and Transport Development of Mongolia L.Khaltar and Minister of Transport and Communications of the Kyrgyz Republic E.Osoev.
During the meeting, the two sides exchanged views on intensifying bilateral cooperation in the spheres of trade, economy, investment, roads, transportation, agriculture, tourism, culture, science, and humanitarian in order to advance bilateral relations.
The two sides assessed the current state of bilateral trade and economic cooperation and reaffirmed their commitment to advance the works discussed and agreed upon at the previous high-level meetings. The sides also noted the importance of improving transport and logistics conditions to boost trade and investment and noted that direct flights, which began this month, would be an important impetus for further intensification of cooperation. The meeting also touched on exploring possible ways to facilitate business cooperation in the agriculture and light industry and establish joint ventures. Kyrgyzstan has expressed interest in supplying fruits, vegetables, and garments to Mongolia, and the sides agreed to work together closely in the fields of animal husbandry, agriculture, and tree growing. Within the framework of expanding local cooperation, they agreed to sign an agreement to establish fraternal relations between Ulaanbaatar and Bishkek cities in the near future.
After exchanging information on the progress of documents to be signed between the two countries to strengthen the legal framework of relations, the co-chairs signed a protocol at the end of the meeting.
