50 percent of gas pipeline project workforce to be provided from Mongolia

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. The feasibility study for the construction project on the natural gas pipeline connecting Russia and China through the territory of Mongolia was finalized on January 25.
In connection, CEO of the company Gazoprovod Soyuz Vostok Aseev Evgeny Nikolaevich who attended the signing ceremony of the protocol on finalizing the feasibility study was briefly interviewed.
“The construction project is highly significant for the two countries. The first step has been completed with the signing of the protocol to officially confirm the feasibility study, and now we are shifting to the next steps for the realization of the project. Specifically, engineering and technical studies will be carried out this year,” highlighted E.Aseev.
He also emphasized the possibility of participation of Mongolian companies in construction work and supply of construction materials. "50 percent of the workforce to be involved in the project will be provided from Mongolia. For starters, 20 percent out of 12,000 employees to be required for the construction work of gas pipeline will be from Mongolia. Once the construction work is expanded to full capacity, the number of workers will be increased to 50 percent in the future. Regarding the matter, training program for workforce from Mongolia is planned to be implemented."
