Deputy FM participates in sub-forum ‘Belt and Road: Thriving against the Current’

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. 'Boao Forum for Asia Annual Conference 2021' is taking place on April 18-21. Deputy Foreign Minister B.Munkhjin has participated in a sub-forum themed ‘Belt and Road: Thriving against the Current’ that has taken place as part of the ‘Boao Forum’.
Participants in the sub-forum include Former European Commission President Romano Prodi, Eurasian Economic Commission Minister in charge of Trade Andrei Slepnev, Chairman of China National Petroleum Corporation Dai Houliang, Former Slovenian President Danilo Turk, etc. Discussions focused on the Belt and Road Initiative and governance issues, how to assess the impact of the initiative, and the role of the Belt and Road Initiative in combating the pandemic and economic recovery.
Deputy Minister B.Munkhjin stressed the importance of cooperation of the Belt and Road Initiative in developing Mongolia's potential as a key road transport and logistics gateway connecting Asia and Europe, while expressing the willingness to work together with the neighboring countries to implement ‘Mongolia-Russia-China Economic Corridor Program’ and ‘Steppe Road’ program.
The Deputy Minister noted that he highly praises the significance of the Digital Silk Road, the Green Silk Road, and the Health Silk Road, which are being implemented under the Belt and Road Initiative.
