Oil, copper concentrate and coal export increased

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ The Ministry of Mining and Heavy Industry presented statistics on export of mining products between January 1 to March 21. In the first three months of 2021, exports of oil, copper concentrate and coal increased while the export of iron ore declined compared to the same period of previous year.
• Mongolia exported 298.4 thousand tons of copper concentrate. The figure shows an increase of 21.4 thousand tons or 7.7 percent.
• The export of coal reached 6,250.9 thousand tons, showing an increase of 3,281.2 thousand tons or 110 percent.
• 1,187.7 thousand barrels of petroleum was exported between January 1 and March 21, showing an increase of 883.2 thousand tons or 290 percent from the previous year.
• The country also exported 1,649.4 thousand tons of iron ore and concrete and it is a decreased performance by 206.2 thousand tons or 11.1 percent.
Furthermore, the Bank of Mongolia bought 2,479.5 thousand tons of precious metal in the first three months of this year. It is a reduced performance by 2,501.8 kg or 50.2 percent compared to the same period of last year.
