STATE SECRETARY D.ENKHBAT MEETS AMBASSADOR OF TURKEY
State Secretary of the Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Light Industry D.Enkhbat met with Ahmet Yazal, Ambassador of Turkey to Mongolia. The Ambassador noted readiness to import meat from Mongolia if the country provides livestock quality assurance, citing Turkey imports 150 thousand tons of meat a year. He also mentioned the opportunities to cooperate and share experience in producing halal-slaughtered meat, to export sheep and goat milk by establishing a joint venture as Turkey has high consumption of the products, to co-develop SMEs and to improve wool and cashmere processing. Ambassador Ahmet Yazal also proposed to organize an event for promoting Mongolia’s agriculture to Turkish companies. In conclusion of the meeting, the sides agreed that Turkey is one of the gates for Mongolia to enter international market and mutually expressed willingness to be active in ensuring long-term sustainable cooperation.
