Decisions Made at the Cabinet Session
Ulaanbaatar, July 17, 2024 /MONTSAME/. During its regular session on July 17, 2024, the Cabinet made the following decisions:
-The Action Program of the Government of Mongolia, the Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation between the Mongolian People's Party, the Democratic Party, and the HUN Party, and the draft amendments to the Law on State Budget will be submitted to the State Great Khural of Mongolia. A Working Group, comprised of representatives from the three parties forming the joint Government, was established.
-During the Cabinet meeting, Prime Minister of Mongolia L. Oyun-Erdene instructed the ministers to strictly adhere to the Law on Civil Service, refraining from making decisions regarding the release or dismissal of civil servants, and urged against increasing the number of posts.
Minister of Mongolia, Head of the Cabinet Secretariat of Mongolia N. Uchral informed the issues discussed at the Cabinet meeting.
Minister of Mongolia Uchral also highlighted that the Government is preparing projects and programs to launch within the first 100 days of the newly established Government, along with detailed work plans for their implementation.
Relevant Ministers Instructed to Prepare for the Winter in the Livestock, Energy, and Road Transport Sectors
Deputy Prime Minister and Head of the State Emergency Commission of Mongolia S. Amarsaikhan presented the winter preparations in the livestock, energy, and road transport sectors at the Cabinet meeting. Following the presentation, Minister of Food, Agriculture, and Light Industry of Mongolia J. Enkhbayar was tasked with formulating a detailed plan for the winter and spring of 2024-2025 in the agricultural sector and ensuring its implementation, optimally organizing migrations of herders. In this regard, the Prime Minister assigned the Minister of Food, Agriculture, and Light Industry to develop a draft Resolution of the Government of Mongolia on Providing Instruction to Cabinet Members, Directors-General of the Agencies, and Governors of Aimags and Soums and to submit it to the Cabinet for discussion. Also, Minister of Energy of Mongolia B. Choijilsuren was tasked with ensuring the implementation of the 2024-2025 winter preparatory work in the energy sector, and presenting issues for discussion and resolution at each Cabinet meeting. Minister of Roads and Transport B. Delgersaikhan was instructed to develop and approve the Winter Preparation Plan for the Road and Transport Sector and ensure its implementation.
International Engineering School under Mongolian University of Science and Technology to Be Established
Minister of Education of Mongolia P. Naranbayar presented the project of establishing an International Engineering School under the Mongolian University of Science and Technology at the Cabinet meeting. Minister of Education P. Naranbayar and Minister of Foreign Affairs B. Battsetseg were instructed to launch the project and report its implementation to the Cabinet.
Mongolia's "Vision 2025" long-term development policy document reflects the goal of improving foreign economic relations by building the Mongolia-Russia-China economic corridor, establishing free trade agreements, and joining regional economic and trade integration. The International Engineering School is planned to be established specifically to prepare skilled human resources for this economic corridor and to develop new knowledge and technologies to drive regional sustainable development.
