A zoom meeting was held on April 19, 2022 between the Ministry of Road and Transportation Development and the State Railways of the Republic of Turkey along with their affiliate companies – MTZ, UBTZ, TCDD Taşımacılık A.Ş, TCDD Teknik Mühendislik ve Müşavirlik A.Ş and TÜRASAŞ with aim of establishing direct cooperation in railway sector between the two countries.

In particular, the need for transportation due to the growing demand, increasing the means of transit traffic, capacity of domestic railways, improving and expanding the network in order to facilitate commercial and people to people ties are inherent. In this vein, the Mongolian side emphasized the importance of establishing railway cooperation as means to expand economic and trade ties between the two countries complimenting road and air links. As Turkey nests on an important geographical juncture connecting Asia and Europe, the Mongolian side expressed its interest in developing transport links in all possible ways to increase regional connectivity.
