TRT AVAS AIRS DOCUMENTARY ABOUT KING TONYUKUK, A COMMON HISTORICAL FIGURE OF MONGOLIA AND TURKEY
On 26 November 2020, Mongolia celebrates the 96th anniversary of proclamation of a Republic and adoption of the Constitution of Mongolia. Marking the day, Ambassador Bold gave an interview to the TRT Avaz, Turkish National Broadcasting Channel. Also on the day, TRT Avaz aired a documentary about King Tonyukuk, a work which an outcome from two years of immense exploration through the paths of history. Commenting on the TRT Avaz for airing the documentary, Ambassador Bold expressed his appreciation for the TRT for its continues efforts in disseminating information about Mongolia and the historical ties between the two countries. For this reason, Ambassador noted that broadcasting the documentary film about Tonyukuk, a nobleman from Ashina tribe, who served as an advisor to three kings of Turks and for that Mongols bestowed him with a title “Wise” is to give a better understanding about our history and the common figures that led the history. Stressing the importance of preservation of historical sites and archeological artifacts found in Mongolia, Ambassador Bold noted that the Government of Mongolia and TIKA of Turkey are working together to build a museum for King Tonyukuk in Mongolia. Once built, the museum is sought not only to protect historical artifacts but also to attract more tourists and to promote information of our common history.
